What MapClerk is
MapClerk prepares documents from public government data (for example FEMA flood maps, U.S. Census data and county address records) in the formats certain agencies ask for. MapClerk is not a government agency, law firm, licensed land surveyor, engineer, insurance agent or flood determination company, and is not affiliated with any agency. Nothing we provide is legal advice, a survey, an elevation certificate, or an official flood zone determination.
Your responsibilities
You decide whether and how to use our documents, you file them yourself, and you sign any declarations or forms yourself. You are responsible for confirming the documents fit your situation and for any filing, mailing or deadline obligations. You agree to use documents only for the purpose stated at purchase (for example a statutory notice for your own application) and not for marketing.
Accuracy and refunds
Public data can contain errors or omissions. We check our results (for example against Census counts or FEMA geometry) and will only sell a document when it passes those checks. If a document is wrong, or if the agency does not accept it for a reason within our control, tell us within 30 days and we will correct it or refund the price in full. For the FEMA “Out as Shown” packet, we refund in full if FEMA does not confirm the structure is outside the Special Flood Hazard Area.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that purchase, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as delays, lost profits or insurance premiums.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
