Your ABC 500-foot resident notice list, instantly.

California requires new retail alcohol license applicants to mail Form ABC-207-E to every resident within 500 feet of the premises and sign ABC-207-F listing those addresses (Bus. & Prof. Code §23985.5). Enter your premises address to see your radius and count — free.

How the ABC 500-foot notice works

Who must notify residents?

Applicants for a retail license at a premises that is not currently licensed, or for a different retail license type. Person-to-person transfers at the same premises with the same license type generally do not. Your ABC district office tells you when Form ABC-207-E applies.

What are ABC-207-E and ABC-207-F?

ABC-207-E is the Notice of Intention your district office gives you. You mail a copy to each resident (and owners, where the city provides owner lists free). ABC-207-F is your Declaration of Service by Mail: you sign it on the day you mail and attach the list of addresses notified.

How is the 500 feet measured?

We measure 500 feet outward from your premises building footprint, which includes everyone the rule can reach. The radius map shows exactly what was included.

Does it include apartments?

Yes — every listed address is addressed to "Resident/Occupant", including units. We check our address count against Census housing-unit counts block by block and only sell a kit when the list is complete. If an area isn't covered yet we tell you before you pay.

When does the 30-day protest period start?

When you post the premises or mail the notices, whichever is later — so mailing promptly avoids delay.
